The first third of this book covers braid designs which are explained clearly in the book with clear instructions.

There is a section in the book dedicated to colour which shows how colour works well with Milanese Lace.

The 'S for Serpent' patten on the front cover is included in the book

The book assumes that you know the basics of Milanese Lace so this is aimed at the adventurous beginner or intermediate lacemaker.  A good follow on to Pat Read's  An Introduction to Milanese Lace Book published by the Lace Guild.

What works well?

• The black and white photos of the braids are exceptionally well taken so that they boost the understanding of the patterns included.  The few colour photos clearly show how colour can work well with Milanese lace.

Anything that we need to take into consideration?

• This book is currently out of print, but is often available on from online booksellers and occasionally on eBay
• This book is available on kindle.  As with many kindle books, care should be taken when buying lace books on kindle that have patterns in them as there can be issues in printing them out to the correct size.
• The braids (only) from this book have been reprinted in Decorative Braids for Milanese Lace, along with the braids from Milanese Lace, an introduction, along with 40 new braids.
