Janet Retter

Janet RetterJanet Retter's reindeer with bells on
I first came across Janet Retter's bobbins at the National Lacemakers Fair at the NEC in 2003.

As someone who can make any kind of lace but has absolutely no ability to draw, I couldn't get over the fact that the pictures on her bobbins were life like.

The reindeer even have jingle bells as the spangles.

I don't think that my photos or even the superb ones on Janet's own website (http://www.janetretter.co.uk/Welcome.html) do her work justice.
