Filled with black and white diagrams and photos, the techniques shown are straight forward to follow.
This book takes you through a step by step process to learn Bucks Point.

Jane Lewis makes, designs and teaches lace specialising in Bucks Point. All of her patterns can be bought via Roseground lacemaking supplies.

Jane is also the coauthor of A Simply Sparkle Wedding with Sally Smiddly.

This pattern pack is supplied in a card folder with a photograph of each of the finished lace pieces on the back.

In all, the pack has 16 pattern sets in it and over 20 designs.

The patterns are well designed. Any lacemaker with an understanding of Bucks Point will find these a pleasure to work; although different levels, the adventurous beginner will find something to make this pack and start their journey into Bucks Point.

What works well?

Each of the patterns in the pack is supplied with a full colour photograph of the finished piece, a starting / working diagram and the pricking

Considered the definitive book on antique lace bobbins, this book is one that not only offers descriptions of the bobbin makers of this period but also the history of bobbins.

Illustrated throughout with clear black and white photography it also has a number of colour plates.

A great source to compliment this is Brian Lemin's website.

What works well?

The enlarged photos of the different parts of the bobbins to help with identification.

Another of my books that I like to snuggle up with and immerse myself in, like The Lavendon Collection.

What works well?

This book is illustrated throughout with black and white photos along with a scattering patterns from the author's collection, including a newly redrafted corner for the Stratford butterfly traditional pattern.

Suffolk Lace has common ancestry with Bucks Point so these patterns would suit and adventurous beginner or intermediate lacemaker
