Dare to Design : The Nervous Woman's Guide to Bobbin Lace Design by Anne Dyer
On opening up this book I felt as though I was reading someone's personal diary.  the doodles and drawings that Anne has populated her book with, feel intimate as though you are being invited to sit with her, over a cup of tea, and listen to her tell you how to design.

Whether or not you want to start designing, this is a book about creativity and very much worth the read.

All about making - Floral Bucks Point Lace by Alexandra Stillwell
This book explains the differences between Floral Bucks and Geometric, which is covered in Alex's other book; Geometric Bucks Point.

Floral Bucks Point is characterised by it's inclusion of flowers and floral motifs and is probably the most recognisable of the Bucks Point variants.

Whilst Geometric Bucks is aimed at someone wanting to learn Bucks Point, this book is aimed more at the lacemaker who has a basic knowledge of Bucks Point.

Included in this book are sections on design and how to adapt lace pieces to create patterns

I'm the lace bee and these are my books

With currently over 400 books and about the same number of individual patterns, I have an enviable library.  So here are some of my books.

You can see all of the titles by opening up the archives or by clicking on the categories which I've used to group by authors, language and lace types.  Want to find a particular book?  Scroll to the top of the page, click on the magnifier glass and type in a title or author.

I am very grateful to the lace gumnuts of Australia for permission to quote and link their reviews to this site.
