Picture
What works well?
  • This book has clear photos and diagrams throughout which are used to illustrate the techniques shown on the accompanying DVD
Anything that we need to take into consideration?
  • The DVD is an integral part of this book - ensure that it is included with the book when buying.
  • The videos, on the DVD, are not available online so if you do not have a DVD player, you will not be able access the videos which demonstrate each of the techniques.
  • There are no patterns included with this book. There is mention in the book that the patterns are from the lace courses run by the author, but it has not been possible to identify how to obtain these patterns.
  • This book is out of print, but readily available from online booksellers, eBay and lace suppliers

This book is available through her website,
https://shop.wolter-kampmann.de/en/collections

Once it is purchased, you are sent a link to download the book. At the time I bought it, a DVD of the videos was mailed.

When I contacted them to ask if the videos were available online (I was learning in front of my computer, and not near a DVD player), I was given instructions for purchasing each video.

Now, it looks like the digital book includes links to the videos. Thank you for posting this question. I wouldn't have visited her site again without the nudge.

Patterns:

I purchased this book in August of 2022. Chapter 8 is "Lace prickings for the practice pieces". There are 20 of them, they are simple, and they match the small samples photographed in the book.

Yes, there are also images of more intricate pieces, labelled as being from courses.

Language:

The text of "Unsichtbar" is also available in French. The download of it is free, but I am assuming that the German and English version must be purchased first.

I'm the lace bee and these are my books

With currently over 400 books and about the same number of individual patterns, I have an enviable library.  So here are some of my books.

You can see all of the titles by opening up the archives or by clicking on the categories which I've used to group by authors, language and lace types.  Want to find a particular book?  Scroll to the top of the page, click on the magnifier glass and type in a title or author.

I am very grateful to the lace gumnuts of Australia for permission to quote and link their reviews to this site.
